SILVER TRAVERTINE
Silver travertine is part from the travertine family which is a form of limestone deposited by mineral springs. Its porous structure presents a mixture of light and dark silver with beige, blue, brown and grey tones with significant movement throughout.
That type of travertine is sourced from different countries, such as Italy, Iran and Turkey. It’s difficult to differentiate the origin of the Silver Travertine when not known, as they only differ internally in the petrographic structure, being the Italian the stronger one.
Most common finishes are polished (pore open, pore closed transparent), honed (pore filled color) or also in sandblasted or brushed finish, very popular for wall cladding structures or exterior pavement.
STONE CUT
Before all consideration about we have to point out about the cut of the travertine, as pattern changes dramatically if opted for one option or another.
This consideration will change the whole perception of the project:
When cut showing the parallel veining. Veins may vary in color and width, providing lines or strokes of colors from the same palette.
This cut causes a completely different effect, submerging the stone into a dance of clouds, waves and lines that wring themselves in a chaotic draw.
